Ghorapani Ghandruk short trek
One of the easiest and worthwhile treks around Pokhara valley is Ghorepani – Ghandruk trek. The two day trek to Ghorepani takes you to an altitude of 3200m where you can see beautiful sunrise and sunset views. This trek gives you access to Nepal’s classic viewpoints of the Annapurna range as well as Dhaulagiri.
The most attractive part of the trek is to explore the Ghandruk village with Gurung community, rhododendron forests, rice paddies and Himalayan ranges. The homestay facility in this trail is quite famous inside the village.
Pick up from your hotel at 8am and drive to Ulleri(2022m) via Nayapul, Birethanti, Hile and Tirkhedhunga. Going directly to Ulleri means you escape the laborious climb of 3421 stone steps from Tikhedhung to Ulleri. After reaching Ulleri, we start gentle uphill trek to GhorepaniDeaurali mostly throughrhododendrum and pine forest. Lunch will be in Nangethanti. After lunch, start uphill trek to Ghorepani for two and a half hours and then one and half hour uphill trek to deurali(3090m). Warm cup of tea awaits you in homestay in Deurali.
Note: If you still have energy and if the weather is good, we will continue trek for another 30 minutes to Gurung hill (3200m) to watch panoramic mountain views of Dhaulagiri range, Dhampus peak, Tukuche peak, GurjaHimal, Nilgiri range, BarahSikhar, Annpurna South,Hiunchuli, Annapurna I and II and Gandhaamong others along with beautiful sunset views.
At about 5.30am, we get ready for uphill hike to Gurung hill which takes about 30 minutes.Enjoy the amazing view of sunrise and Dhaulagiri range, Dhampus peak, Tukuche peak, GurjaHimal, Nilgiri range, BarahSikhar, Annpurna South, Hiunchuli, Annapurna I and II, GandharbaChuli, Fishtail, LamjungHimaland Manaslul. The natural setting will give you a feel of heaven. Trek back to your hotel atDeurali and have warm breakfast. Afterwards take another 3 hrs up and down trek to reach Tadapani where you will have your lunch enjoying the view of Fishtail, Annapurna south and Hiunchuli.
After lunch, trek for one and half hour to Ghandruk where you will be picked up by pre ordered Jeep to take you to Pokhara in 2 hrs.
